Strange shaped UFO over Hickory, North Carolina
A strange shaped UFO over Hickory, North Carolina was caught on camera on November 3, 2013. The report was filed with the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) as case #52291. Below we’ve posted the witness’ two photos and enlargement of the object along with the written testimony. Minor grammatical changes were made to make it easier to read. – The Editor
“I walked out of my local video store - Family Video. After noticing a star directly in front of me, I proceeded to take a photograph of it. I took two separate pictures to try and get the star in the best possible focus.
“Days past before I looked back over the photographs. I noticed the object in both pictures. In the first photo the lights appear white and in the latter they appear to be red.
“There were no airplanes, helicopters, weather balloons and no noise coming from the object. Local traffic was mild with nothing out of the ordinary. Looking at the lights and slots (sic), I doubted that it was a drone or any such vehicle.
“I would like the photograph to be confirmed by others to verify it not being something along the lines of a glare or balloon. I do believe it to be a UFO or something otherworldly.”

Photos of fiery red UFO over Franklin, NC
EDITOR’S NOTE: We received these photos and report from Lynn Grady of Franklin, North Carolina on September 16, 2013. Franklin is just west of Cashiers on Highway 441.
On the evening of September 10, 2013 at about 10:45 p.m., I went out on my deck to look at the moon. There was no moon but what I did see was this curious, almost fiery red ball.
I already had taken out my contact lenses, so really could not discern what I was seeing. Then I had the thought to take photos and look at them later on my computer. So here are the four shots.
I thought I was taking a fifth photo but the red ball disappeared as I was shooting it - went straight up and poof gone!
I live in Franklin, North Carolina. I believe I was facing south. There was no one else with me. I didn't think to compare it to my thumb or anything for size.

Camera catches two Sky Ships over Cashiers, NC
EDITOR’S NOTE: We received the following photos and information on September 5, 2013 from Glynis Heenan of Cashiers, North Carolina.
Last night (September 4, 2013) I stopped to grab something to eat at Subway near the intersection of Highways 64 and 107 in Cashiers. Locally it’s known as “The Crossroads.” As I was driving away about 8:30 p.m., I looked up and saw an extremely low-flying sky ship in the western sky just above the treetops.
The ship was really close and my heart started pounding. I could hardly wait to get a photo. Since there wasn’t a car behind me, I stopped, popped up through the sunroof, and snapped the first photo.
Next I drove a short distance to pick up my mail at the post office. The ship was still in view, so I jumped out and snapped the second and third photos. All the photos were taken with my Android cellphone camera.
As you can see from the photos, the sky ship kept changing color – rotating white, blue, orange and gold. At arm’s length, the ship was at least the width of my thumb.

I was on a tight schedule because I had to pick up my daughter Devon at 8:50 p.m. from a church field trip. After that, we both watched the ship nearly all the way home until the forest made it impossible to keep watching it. All total, I watched it about 30 minutes.
Once we got home, there was another surprise. We found a second sky ship in one of the photos (R) that I hadn’t noticed before. It was smaller or farther away. It was at a 45-degree angle above and to the right of the predominant ship. |

Object near Sun has been there for years

EDITOR’S NOTE: We received this photo on May 17, 2013 from Sharon Martin of Hendersonville, North Carolina. It’s a clear photo of an object that’s been seen around the Sun since at least 2009 – the year we began posting photos of it on this website. That’s a long time for an unidentified sky object to remain near the Sun.
My daughter Michelle Martin was visiting family in St. Augustine, Florida when she took this photo. She had been sending me photos with her cellphone of the family relaxing outside. It was warm and sunny in Florida and cold and cloudy in the mountains of North Carolina, so I asked her to send some sunshine our way. Then I added, “Better yet, take a photo of the Sun and send it to me.”
I was pleasantly surprised when I looked at the photo and asked Michelle if she was aware of any objects in the sky. Needless to say, she said she was not until I brought it to her attention. The photo was taken at 4:40 p.m. on March 30, 2013. |

UFO plays peek-a-boo between trees
EDITOR’S NOTE: We received this sighting report on May 1, 2013 with an update the following day from Glynis Heenan who lives in Cashiers, North Carolina.
On Tuesday, April 30, 2013, I took down all the drapes on my enclosed porch for cleaning, so that evening I had a very clear view outside. When I walked through my living room about 8:30 p.m., I noticed a light low in the sky. It was a blend of bluish, reddish and white colors that slowly meandered around in the same area for at least two hours. It kind of played peek-a-boo between the trees that surround my house.
I even ran upstairs to the second floor porch and could see the light from there, too. At arm’s length, the light was as big as the end of my thumb. It was still in the sky when I went to bed at 11:30 p.m.
The next night about 9 p.m. the same multicolored light appeared in the same area and drifted around until it blinked out somewhere between 10:30 and 10:45 p.m.

Detailed photo of UFO near Washington Monument

The photo to the left shows a UFO just above the horizon. It’s one of many UFOs that have been caught by an EarthCam focused on the Washington Monument in Washington, DC.
The photo below is an enlargement of that UFO sent to this website by Mart Padmos of the Netherlands. He’s a bit of a technical master at enlarging UFO photos to reveal thought-provoking details.

Former Army specialist: How to be an armchair UFO hunter
EDITOR’S NOTE: We received the above photo and explanation on January 27, 2013 from Roger Taggert of High Point, North Carolina. He is a former U.S. Army Aerial Image Analyst.
I found this UFO disk in the 1996 French adventure movie “The Horseman on the Roof.” About 57 minutes into the film, when there’s a panoramic view of a wide open field and sky, I started noticing little white flecks popping around. I intuitively felt I should check out the sky in that segment of the film. So I watched that section frame by frame, slowly forward and backward, and finally got it.
I’ve read that non-starring UFOs often can be found in movies, so every time there’s a vista, I look for them. But you do not see them with the naked eye when the film is running at normal speed. You have to go frame by frame to find them.

FOX-TV captures UFO at Obama’s inauguration site
EDITOR’S NOTE: The following article by Tom Rose was posted on Examiner.com on January 22, 2013. The original article was titled “FOX News catches ‘de-cloaking’ UFO NEAR Washington Monument.”
Fox News seems to have unintentionally caught a new kind of UFO, which “de-cloaked” near the Washington Monument on Sunday night. What is it?
The video attached below and posted to YouTube, was taken by a viewer with an iPhone filming a DVR recording of the Sunday coverage of the pending Obama inauguration. As the news report ends and goes to commercial break, it centers on a night shot of the monument, blinking its aircraft warning lights.
Suddenly, a strange aircraft appears to materialize on camera. The unidentified flying object shows two blue, orb-like lights which don’t look like normal aviation running lights. The UFO then appears to “morph” into a solid shape which then seems to evaporate into a blue, smoky ring of haze.
The viewer rolls the segment twice, which seems to rule out any trickery by the camera. Whatever the object was, it completely winks out and disappears into the inky night sky. It certainly doesn’t behave like any known aircraft, especially like advanced surveillance drones which, presumably, would be flying all over Washington in anticipation of the coming inaugural ceremonies.

UFO makes split-second move around Sun
EDITOR’S NOTE: We received these photos on December 29, 2012 from Darlene Pruitt of Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Using the trees and the clouds as reference points, the white object clearly moved significantly between the first and second photos. The red dot on the map shows the location of Winston-Salem. We first began posting photos of an object near the Sun nearly four years ago. We encourage you to scroll through the 2009 archives of this section of the website to view those, too.
I am a 58-year-old grandmother who believes in many things seen and unseen. Every day, I walk my dogs and we sometimes go to a field in my neighborhood in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Sometimes I take my iPhone and snap photos of nature and have gotten some interesting photos. Often I use my intuition as to where and when to take a picture.
I did not see the round white object near the Sun with my naked eye when I took these pictures. It wasn’t until I got home and looked at the photos that I saw it. I should add that the photos were snapped just a second a part and I did not experience any physical sensations when I took the photos. |
